Location: Fellowship Hall at the church building @ milestone
Date: February 7, 2007
Occasion: bridal shower
Creators: Me and Charlotte
The colors were red and white. We were trying to go *extremely* low budget and use stuff the church already had.
The kissing balls. We already had TONS of red roses (from a past wedding I think) so I plucked them from the stems and poked them into a Styrofoam ball to make a kissing ball. We placed them on mirrors (from my wedding!!!). The original idea was to hang them on the cake table from ribbons.... it did NOT work. But I think this came out gorgeous!!!!
The Cake Table
The Present Table
The Bride to be.
The Food Table. It was two in the afternoon so we had spinach artichoke dip, grape salad and chex mix.
The Centerpieces.
We borrowed the bowls from a couple who had their 50th wedding anniversary. Filled them with red water and floating candles from hobby lobby (50% off!!). Under the bowls is scrapbook paper!! Hobby Lobby has beautiful scrapbook paper that's only 59 cents! And red rose petels (walmart 2.50)
With the Candles lit...
The Cake... we were less than thrilled with this. When she went to go pick up the cake they had apparently lost the paperwork for the cake! Asked her for the details of the cake so they could go look for it again (or make it really quick....) and when she came back in an hour this is what it was. I've seen MUCH better looking cakes.
The whole room.

More to come!
I have a few more pictures to post and I will try to keep this updated. I've got 2 events coming up that I am working on- a bridal shower and a lectureship... so expect pictures and ideas!!
Ice Cream Party
Location: our house
Date: June 2007
Occasion: just because!
Creators: me
Invitation One:
Invitation Two:
In addition to soft drinks we also had strawberry lemonade and regular lemonade... I don't suggest this for a ice cream party... have you ever had lemonade after eating ice cream?? Maybe kool-aid instead!
The toppings. I wrapped plastic spoons in polka dotted ribbon (hot glued).
Centerpieces- I took plastic pots and spraypainted them white, took styrofoam balls and painted them cream, brown and pink glued 'sprinkles'(little beads on top). Glued them into the stuffed pot took a ice cream scoop stuck it in there and glued a 'icecream' ball into it. Tied a ribbon on and wa-la!
This was really fun and we plan on hosting it here at our new place as well!! Probably in april.

Graduation Party
Location: fellowship hall at Obion Church of Christ
Date: May 2007
Occasion: high school graduation
Creators: Me and the girl's grandmother
Her school colors where red and blue.
Candles and Candle Holders all from Dollar Store. I wrapped the candles with ribbon also from the dollar store.(I hot glued the ribbon...but the easiest way to do it would be to use flat headed pins and simple wrap it under and pin!) Confetti, table clothes and marbles are from walmart about a dollar each as well! We did finger foods and I made crocumbouche, mini fruit pizzas (sugar cookies, spread with sweetened cream cheese and cut fruit- tastes like cheesecake!!)and tortilla pinwheels.
